Congratulations to the University of Florida for capturing the Championship title at the 2012 Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Championship. Your determination and hard work will represent our conference well in the USA Rugby Sweet 16 South Regional in two weeks. I would also like to congratulate our Championship Runner-up, the University of Tennessee for securing the At-Large bid to the USA Rugby Sweet 16 South Regional. Their invitation to compete is a testament to the strength and competitiveness of the Southeastern Collegiate Rugby conference. I wish both teams the best of luck! Media Coverage: The following are RugbyMag opinion/news reports posted throughout the SCRC Championship event: SCRC Announces Championship Weekend USA Rugby Sweet 16 South Regional USA Rugby Playoffs take place the weekend of April 28th/29th at the Tennessee Rugby Park, hosted by the Smoky Mountain Athletic Club. The SCRC Champions, the Florida Gators, will be matched against the Southern Independent Conference Champions and in-state rivals, the Florida State Seminoles, at 2:00pm EST, while the at-large representative, the Tennessee Volunteers, will face off against the Atlantic Coast Rugby League Champions, the Maryland Terrapins, at 4:00pm EST. If both the Gators and the Volunteers are victorious on Saturday, they will face each other for the third time this season to compete for an invitation to the USA Rugby Final Four on May 18th/19th at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah.
